L A Wraps is fully owned and operated by the husband & wife team of Linda & Al Clineman (hence the L A).
We utilize the products and services ourselves and in fact, we actually were just going for body wraps elsewhere before we decided to open L A Wraps.
Our quest began early spring of 2010. We'd heard a radio commercial about body wraps from someone who gave them in the next county north of us and decided to go check it out. This person claimed unbelievable inch lose in just one visit - 15 to 25!!
Seemed too good to be true of course but we wanted to check it out so we drove the 45 miles one way to the advertised location and had our first infrared body wrap.
It was amazing!! A miracle!! I lost some 13" with just my first wrap!! (Or so I was told).
Seemed too good to be true? Of course it was! If I had lost 13", why weren't my pants falling off me?? BUT, there was some difference, minor, but the capris I wore to the appointment were slightly loser. Slightly. (Where'd the supposedly 13" come from ---or go?)
So Al & I decided to give it a good try and both signed up for a 10 wrap package and got 2 free. Surely, after 12 wraps we'd know if this thing worked or not.
We drove 90 mile round trip once a week for twelve weeks for a half hour treatment and quite frankly, it was a huge disappointment for both of us.
I of course began researching infrared body wraps and infrared heat on the Internet and every week I'd have a question or 2 for the proprietor of the 'miracle inch loss wrap salon'.
Unfortunately, her answers were all totally opposite of any research I was doing.
For instance, when someone overly measures points of your body and then doubles some figures because after all, you have 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 ankle etc etc...they're going to get an unrealistic and large number. That's why my pants weren't falling off after the amazing 13" loss of my very first wrap!
What we found out in our research is that...
- Far Infrared body wraps are consistently effective as long as you do continue to eat sensibly.
- People could care less about losing inches in their ankles! Measure just the important targeted trouble areas - abdomen, hips/stomach, thighs and biceps.
- The average initial inch loss is realistically 4" - 6" (through the above mentioned areas) and additional inch loss is not as dramatic but it's overall total inches loss over 6-10 weeks that counts.
- An effective infrared body wrap should always last an hour as it take the first 20 minutes for the far infrared heat to penetrate to your bones.
- If a client is coming for wraps to manage pain, once a week is usually sufficient but for actual weight loss and body contouring, the client should be scheduled twice a week with at least 2 days in between.
And those points are the bases of our Principles of Good Business. We didn't like being 'fluffed to' and therefore will never do that to our clients. We offer a good service at a reasonable price and will do all that we can to help our clients reach their goals.
